A crossdresser is someone who wears clothes that are normally associated to the opposite sex. A trend that has always existed, in every society, and that nevertheless tends to be repressed because it goes against the dictates of monotheisms and therefore considered indecent. This judgment becomes grotesque if you think that, in the Western world, for several decades all women, in fact, have been crossdressers: they wear jackets, trousers, jeans, tennis shoes … garments designed originally for men and rightly “stolen” because obviously more practical than sheath dresses and stiletto heels.
So, honestly, it is not very clear to me why the same range of options is not completely available to men. After all, until Roman times – and even beyond, if we think of the Renaissance – it was men who wore miniskirts, knee-length tunics, ballet flats or gold sandals.

Back to myself…I may say…it all started in the worst way. When I was a kid, I felt like I hated all the girls I liked. A very serious handicap that I could not explain for decades: something that dug a deep furrow, between me and others.

Only, later, as an adult, through psychotherapy, did I discover the reasons: it was the result of a profound split between my male and female part.

These two parts have never fully merged- as for almost all human beings – leaving one another, autonomous freedom of expression.
So here we have Stefano, the man, who likes women, who is married and is father of a girl; Stefano is a football lover and watches the game on TV, he is a great watcher of action films and avid reader of thriller novels as well. And next to him we have Stefania, the female part, a woman who lives in a very special symbiosis with Stefano, whose body she needs to exist in.

I am aware it might look like a serious psychiatric issue, but in reality this is just the way I have, to express the intergratation of the two sides we all have: so Stefania was jealous of the women I liked, hence the hatred. I was the one rebelling against totally unsuitable constraints for me, and subconsciously pawed for society to recognize my right to wear the things I really liked and that fully represented me.
Only when I turned 29, totally (and understandably) alone and jobless due to my hate, I decided to let myself go: i started to turn my male wardrobe into a more female one until after 14 years it was completed replaced.

These female clothes represent me completely : I don’t exist, I don’t live, I cannot do anything without or away from them. I don’t care about what people say. Each one of us has essential needs, mine are no more serious than others’, they are just more noticeable.
Asking me to wear men’s clothes, is like asking a gay man to date or sleep with a woman – nonsense, nonsense, maybe even a crime!

Body Booster and Color Explosion are usually carried out at the studio while others at home or shopping in town. Prices do not include transfers outside Milan.

Duration of each service depends on customer’s needs and can vary according to each request, each extra hour will be charged accordingly to the original combo chosen.

-Giorno 1 –

Circa un mese fa mi contatta una scuola, vicino a Pavia e mi chiede se sono interessata ad avere una stagista per 3 settimane. Una ragazza affascinata dalla professione di consulente di immagine e personal shopper.

A 16 anni? A dire il vero mi sento già onorata ma resto anche un po’ perplessa…

Contate che avevo appena detto no a due ragazze che mi avevano scritto, più mature, più preparate sicuramente della ragazzina di 16 anni di cui mi stavano parlando.

La mia prima reazione è stata quindi di spiegare che da me non si timbra il cartellino, non ci sono orari fissi nè tanto meno c’è un ufficio con la mensa, per intenderci.

“Ma la ragazza è molto motivata” mi dicono

“Lo capisco, ma sono una libera professionista, come faccio a garantirle una continuità? Dovrà lavorare da casa, ogni tanto venire da me sperando che qualche cliente accetti di avere una terza persona che non conosce, durante la consulenza”

“Valuti Lei, ma la ragazza ci tiene tanto. Sta studiando da modellista ma è attirata da questa professione”

Dentro di me si accende una lampadina: modellista! sartoria! competenze tecniche che io ho solo accennate – forse avrei dovuto considerare questa opportunità.

Qualche giorno dopo mi chiama la madre, chiacchieriamo un po’ – mi vengono a trovare, ci conosciamo e io sono sempre più convinta che queste 3 settimane saranno curiose e divertenti.

Oggi è il giorno 1 di questa opportunità che mi è caduta dal cielo e questo figurino ha già scatenato la mia fantasia: se il test funziona se ne vedranno delle belle.

Sono bastate poche ore per farmi capire di aver preso la decisione giusta ed è anche per questo che desidero raccontarvela qui su questo blog un po’ anomalo 🙂

In Italia, ho notato, tendiamo a non parlare bene, a non svelare i “nostri” trucchi. Mi spiego… tendiamo a non raccontare a quale professionista ci siamo rivolti soprattutto se ha a che fare con qualcosa di molto personale.

Ora, posso capire che non a tutti faccia piacere dire che si vede regolarmente con uno psichiatra (anche se molte persone ne sarebbero sollevate…) ma perchè non parlare di qualcuno che ha avuto un ruolo importante nella nostra vita come uno psicologo, un coach, un nutrizionista, un personal trainer, un … personal shopper?

Un giorno una cliente mi ha raccontato che, quando parlava di me e della sua bella esperienza di consulenza di immagine e personal shopping alle sue amiche, queste la guardavano un po’ stranite chiedendole se:

1. non fosse in grado di fare shopping da sola

2. non fosse in grado di vestirsi da sola

3. se forse stesse diventando un po’ troppo “Fighettina”

Per fortuna E. continua a tornare da me e non perchè non si sappia vestire da sola la mattina o faccia parte delle snob del quartiere, ma per un semplice fatto di comodità (e credo anche per una sana chiacchierata!).

Parlandone mi disse un giorno: ma perchè hanno questa reazione? IO con te vado a colpo sicuro, non butto via i soldi e mi fanno pure i complimenti per come mi vesto… è un’esperienza talmente positiva che vorrei consigliarla a tutti ma sembra che debba tenerti nascosta come se andassi dallo psicologo e avessi un problema mentale da non svelare a nessuno.

Nel passaparola negativo siamo tutti maestri ma perchè quello positivo è così pieno di ostacoli?

Se alimentassimo il passaparola positivo forse riusciremmo a contribuire alla crescita ed allo sviluppo di idee brillanti (non solo le mie 😉 ) e utili alla comunità facendo conoscere soluzioni a problemi quotidiani che spesso restano irrisolti per mancanza di conoscenza.
